How to use up the tiniest fabric scraps

Did you know you can make new fabric from your tiniest scraps? It can be frustrating to know what to do with those tiny little bits of fabric leftover. I end up with so many tiny, skinny pieces from trimming down blocks and HSTs. I call it "scrap mulch". Here's what you can do to use up all those little bits!

I sandwiched all these tiny scraps between two layers of tulle. You could use any type of fabric here - I've seen people use interfacing, muslin, anything with a little bit of transparency to show the confetti color beneath.

Next, I pinned the heck out of it and quilted it together. From here, the world is your oyster! This fabric would make a really cute zip pouch (can you imagine pulling your lip gloss out of this?), and any number of small projects. I went on to make a little Christmas ornament out of mine. I just cut out an ornament shape and sewed on a hanging loop. I'm planning to tie these into the ribbon I wrap gifts with.

Now get after it and have a blast!
