Can you believe it? It's time! We're at Week 1 of 7 for our stitch-along. And we're starting off with a bang: starting the front facade panel of our house!
As a reminder, here's our roadmap:
Week 1, Sept 18: Baby steps! Stitch card, cut panel, start front facade
Week 2, Sept 25: Stitch the front facade panel
Week 3, Oct 2: Stitch the rear facade panel
Week 4, Oct 9: Stitch roofs and handle
Week 5, Oct 16: Stitch sides
Week 6, Oct 23: Stitch bottom, cut and sew lining
Week 7, Oct 30: Assemble, sew in lining, stitch exposed edges
If you fall behind or something comes up, don't worry. I'm not a cop. Catch up when you can and don't stress. This is needlepoint! It's supposed to be fun!

Make a stitch card. First, familiarize yourself with the basic stitches. You'll use ALL of them on the front facade. You can watch the video tutorials here. Make a stitch card to practice your stitches and check the coverage of your yarns. Watch the video on stitch cards for more info.

Cut your panel. The front facade panel measures 65 x 46 plastic lines. Remember, we count the lines of the plastic canvas, NOT the holes. Go slow when cutting and cut close to the line. Watch the video on cutting for more tips, and check the diagrams for layout of your panels.

Start with the walls and beams. It's easiest to block in the large areas of color first. Next week we'll tackle the details - doors, windows, plants.
Happy stitching! I'll see you next Thursday for the rest of the front facade.
