Marbled glass and wool pin cushion

Stab your needle into something one of a kind! Featuring a marbled glass vessel, secured with needle-felted wool. The adhesive inside is removable, in case you want to make it a treasured antique down the line. Measures 2 inches tall and 1.75 inches wide. 

These glass pieces have interesting history! I stumbled across them at a flea market and was drawn to the fabulous colors. A number of them are made by Akro Agate, a glass marble manufacturer from 1911-1951. The glass is heated and pressed into little forms to make kids tea sets, tiny flowerpots, and itty bitty tumblers. A minority of their pieces do contain uranium or cadmium, but they are safe to be around as long as you aren't eating out of them.
