Markings are every 1/8 inch, with a diagonal line at 45 degrees for easy half square triangle trimming. Laser cut and engraved from 1/8 inch acrylic. Great color, poor design

I LOVE the iridescent color, but the markings seem to start in the wrong corner - bottom left vs top right. Picture shows if I want to cut a 2"×2" piece. Placing it as-is, not only doesn't have the numbers, it also has the 1/2" extra. If there is some trick in not understanding, then it wasn't made clear.
