Stitch Along Week 7: THE END!

Stitch Along Week 7: THE END!

My goodness, can you believe we did it? It's the final week!

First, a big, fat THANK YOU.  This has been SO fun and rewarding. If you've tagged me in progress pics, messaged in the Discord, or made a single stitch of this stitch-along, you're the best! This was like a massive test-run of a pattern made by someone who has never written a pattern before. You guys are all baddies for participating.

I'm in the process of editing the pattern based on all of your feedback, and I'll send it out to all of you when it's done. I will be putting it up for sale as a digital download on my site and my Etsy shop, so tell your crafty friends!

I'm also working on a few other plastic needlepoint projects I'm hoping to have out soon. They're Christmassy! Here's a little sneak peek:

Ok, let's finish our house purses! This week we're sewing in the lining, attaching the roof opening, and finishing exposed edges.

First, attach the handle if you haven't yet. Here's a photo of my technique.

We'll be hand-stitching the lining in. You can use a ladder stitch or whipstitch; I have videos showing both techniques in the shared folder.

Make sure you've ironed the seam allowances so that they won't be exposed when you're stitching in the lining. You'll be stitching into the folded edge of the lining. I used magic clips to hold my lining in place while I stitched.

Next, attach the roof opening panel. I stitched mine with regular thread, then covered it with the roof yarn.

Finally, whipstitch all your exposed plastic edges. And you're DONE!

Huzzah! If your roof is having trouble staying closed, you can add a little button and loop closure. Now go forth and be SUPER CUTE!
